I configured my web service client to use Moxy to marshall / unmarshall the service payloads. My service client does not have a control on the Jaxb configuration. That said, I have configured my client to use Moxy by adding a jaxb.properties file with the entry as follows:: javax.xml.bind.context.factory=org.eclipse.persistence.jaxb.JAXBContextFactoryI have a requirement to change the encoding of the payload so that its:: Is this possible by adding an entry to jaxb.properties (as it would be a lot of work for me to inject this value via code, due to the various frameworks we have in place).
If you implement this interface: com.sun.xml.bind.marshaller.CharacterEscapeHandler, with your own character escaping, but you want to delegate some behaviour to the traditional escaping, you can use any of these clases (or write your own code based on them):. com.sun.xml.bind.marshaller.MinimumEscapeHandler. com.sun.xml.bind.marshaller.NioEscapeHandler. com.sun.xml.bind.marshaller.DumbEscapeHandlerThey come with the JAXB RI Implementation AKA jaxb-impl-2.2.1.jar.Hope this help to anyone, like it helped me.

There used to be a distinction between Marshal and MarshalForHTML, but that wasremoved because it was deemed that HTMLEscaping would always be better. For my use-case, I want to keep those characters because:a) It makes the resulting JSON file smallerb) It makes the raw JSON more readableWhat happened?' Mount and blade wild west mod. It makeseverything much less readable and bigger (I transfer terabytes of JSON a month so thesesmall changes add up). I think there would be value in offering a method for opting outof this automatic HTML escape feature.

Comment 2 by: Automatic HTML-escaping is irrelevant to JSON encoding. Therefore the feature should beturned off by default. The 'auto-escaping is safer' argument in the original thread( is bogus because it all depends onthe context where the serialized data is used. Before this gets fixed, one quick workaround is to fork the encoding/json module andremove '&& b!= '.
